Here’s What Mazda Has in Store for 2021
In 2021, Mazda won’t be releasing any new vehicles, but every single current model will receive a series of updates from new additional features to new trim levels.
Mazda CX-3 Evolution
While many thought the Mazda CX-3 was headed for discontinuation, it actually gets some new available packages. There is a new $500 custom appearance package that includes white and tan interior upholstery, as well as a few unique trim features on the interior and exterior.
2021 Mazda3
The 2021 Mazda3 is now available with three different engine options: 1) a base 155-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-4 engine, 2) a 186-horsepower 2.5-liter inline-4 engine, and 3) a 250-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine with standard four-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The new turbo Mazda3 (see engine option three) also has an available aero kit. Additionally, 18-inch black-forged Baumgartner Brand Schiltach (BBS) wheels are available for the new 2021 model.
2021 Mazda CX-30
Similar to the Mazda 3, the CX-30 will also have a turbo option, which is a 250-hp 2.5-liter turbo-4 engine with standard all-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission. It will also now have a standard 8.8-inch display screen, a three-year trial to Mazda Connected Services, six-months of in-car Wi-Fi, and standard compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
2021 Mazda CX-5 and CX-9
Like other 2021 Mazda models, the 2021 Mazda CX-5 and CX-9 will get technology feature updates. For both the CX-5 and CX-9, these include a 10.3-inch display screen (which replaces a 7-inch screen in the 2020 model), standard linking to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a three-year trial to Mazda Connected Services. However, the CX-9 will also come with three months of in-car Wi-Fi.
Also available for both new models is a new trim level: the Carbon Edition. Creating the perfect blend of style and power, the Carbon Edition has a Polymetal and Gray exterior paint color, an available 250-hp turbo engine, and an array of premium features, which include 10-inch aluminum alloy wheels with Black Metallic Finish, leather-trimmed seats available in Red or Black, leather-wrapped steering wheel with red accent stitching, and black side mirror caps.
Special Editions
To celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary last year, Mazda is making the anniversary edition packages available for the Mazda3, CX-5, CX-9, and the MX-5. Inspired by Mazda’s first passenger car, the R360, each will feature the vehicles’ original red and white color scheme, which will be achieved using Snowflake white paint and Garnet red interior coloring along with badging and distinctive trim components.
Additionally, the Mazda6, CX-5, and CX-9 will be available in a special Kuro Edition trim level. This trim level features two available colors: Jet Black Mica and Polymetal Grey Metallic, both of which will be paired with Garnet red leather interior and black accents. The Kuro Edition gives drivers and passengers a premium experience with special features like automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat with memory, and most of the i-Active Safety sense suite including blind-spot monitoring and radar cruise control with stop and go.
