The 2021 Mazda CX-30 Earns the Highest IIHS “TOP SAFETY PICK+” Award
In December 2020, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) announced that the 2021 Mazda CX-30 was selected for its highest award, the 2020 Top Safety Pick+. IIHS is an independent non-governmental safety-testing organization funded by the insurance industry. The CX-30 will join other Mazda models that have earned this award previously, including the 2021 Mazda3 Sedan and Hatchback, Mazda6, CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9. With all of these models, Mazda leads the auto industry with more IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards than any other auto brand.
2021 Mazda CX-30 Winning Features
Manufactured after September 2020, the 2021 Mazda CX-30 safety level qualified for the 2020 Top Safety Pick+ awards with good ratings in all six of the IIHS’s crashworthiness evaluations. These tests included the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. Additionally, the 2021 CX-30 earned superior rating in both the vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention tests. Equipped with standard good-rated headlights when built after September 2020, the 2021 CX-30 soared in all of the IIHS tests to earn the Top Safety Pick+ award.
